Below is an example of an electrical estimating specification checklist regarding underground conduit. It explains which elbows are required.
Item D above shows: PVC Conduit may be used underground or below concrete slabs. It says “ Provide (PVC) coated rigid steel elbow for all elbows where PVC is used.”
There is a big price difference between PVC elbows and PVC coated rigid elbows. Missing this detail would cost a lot of money.
